About Me
Marcus Odom is a cinematographer with over 10 years of experience working in the film industry of NYC. Moving to Brooklyn from Illinois in 2014, Marcus started from the bottom with lofty goals and a strong work ethic. working his way up the camera department, while shooting his own projects on the side. Working as a 1st Assistant Camera, he has collaborated with many celebrated directors of photography including Alex Ashe, Charlotte Hornsby, Kate Arizmendi, and Bradford Young, honing his own visual style along the way.

Drawn to scripts that approach storytelling with an absurdist and relational perspective, Marcus has worked to bring that tone to the screen with short films like Is That A Mime? (Fantastic Fest '24, Austin, TX) and The Owner Is In (Best Local Short, Williamsburg Film Festival '19, Brooklyn, NY). Using vintage equipment, and often shooting in the 16mm format, he lets the medium and the lenses lend their voice to his projects.

In his spare time, Marcus spends his time enjoying the city with his partner and baby daughter. From hiking with the dog, to live music in Brooklyn, he tries to bring the same enthusiasm he has for filmmaking to all aspects of his life.
